BUCKS PREGAME REPORT: Houston Rockets Vs. Milwaukee Bucks (03/26/19)

tiger pregame preview

Well we have a big one tonight! Not as much in the form of team related ramifications (even though every win is very significant for both the Bucks and Rockets right now) but specifically to the fact that tonight Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden go at it for a second time this season and are currently the MVP front runners. Both players went off last meeting and we can expect big nights again this evening. Both teams are currently trying to secure their seedlings as of right now however, Houston could actually, wildly enough, win the Western conference! They are only 3.5 games back behind the Warriors and are currently the 3rd seed in the West! If it’s true that Golden State is just coasting through the regular season well then it wouldn’t be to far fetched to believe that they may actually end up the 3rd seed themselves by the end of the regular season. The Warriors have had some ugly losses in the last couple of months and they are clearly not locked in. The Rockets however have surged in the last couple of months and if they go on a win streak it’s quite possible that they eclipse both Denver and the Warriors since Denver is only a 1/2 game back from the Warriors. Regardless, Houston is dangerous right now and the Bucks are currently trying to prove that they can still play at a high level even with multiple injuries their battling currently. This is going to be a fun game with plenty of storylines. Let’s dive deeper…

tiger pregame analysis

Bucks fans have to be at least a bit relieved that Giannis will be playing tonight because he’s missed some games recently and we wouldn’t have a chance in this matchup without him. On top of that, we could have an epic showdown between the Freak and the Beard tonight on national TV tonight (TNT) and NBA fans across the board aren’t going to want to miss this one. It’s a battle of the MVPS tonight end I expect both superstars to go ham just like they did in the first meeting.

Both teams shoot a ton of 3’s currently ranking #1 (Houston) and #2 (Milwaukee) in 3pt attempts and makes. Really this could be a shootout and I expect a bit higher scoring game than what Vegas is predicting.. I don’t expect either defense to shut down Giannis or Harden as they are going to be playing to prove they are the real MVP tonight in front of a national audience. Neither team has any anyone can come even close to defending either team’s superstar so I expect both guys to have huge nights

The Bucks are a little bit unstable right now but still playing good basketball as we just blew out the Miami Heat again. However, losing Brogdon has no doubt cost us some wins as he is arguably the second best player on the team (probably tied with the other 3 starters really). The Rockets have a really good chance to steal a win at Fiserv tonight. However, I think the Bucks are getting some confidence back as well and this could be a signature game this season. It’s going to be a big game. It’s going to be close. I can’t wait to watch! This game is a complete coin flip…

So I basically already concluded that I think this game is going to be a nail biter and it’s as even as it’s going to get tonight. I’m really not so afraid of the Rockets entire squad. It just comes down to Harden. It’s been this way all season. He has to keep doing what he’s been doing for them to win tonight. But that’s the problem because he just keeps doing what he’s doing and I expect the same tonight! Because it’s Bucks at home and I know Giannis will play up to this game just like Harden I will give the Bucks a slight edge since I think they are also starting to finally get acclimated through all the injuries. I’ll take the Bucks but in a really close game.

Final Verdict = (L) Rockets 118 @ (W) Bucks 120

TIGER’S Calling It…

The Bucks could use a big win against a really good team tonight. They’re going through their biggest challenge of the season thus far through the last few weeks and beating a hot Rockets team tonight would really solidify the grit I believe this team has with some key players missing. The Bucks are still loaded with good players and some players are getting more minute opportunity that they deserve. This matchup has more psychological factors for the postseason than anything else as a win for either team will be a huge confidence booster heading into the playoffs. Regardless of the verdict…this game will be a thriller! GO BUCKS! BUCKS IN THE FINALS! BUCKS IN 6!
